Buttermilk Pound Cake
2 sticks margarine
1 cup CRISCO
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon
1 cup buttermilk
3 1/4 cup cake flour
1/2 cup cocoa (optional)
Cream first 6 ingredients together and mix well; approximately 15
to 20 minutes. Add milk and flour. Pour into cake pan and bake
at 325 degrees for 1and 1/2 hou rs.

Pound Cake
3 cups sugar
3 cups plain flour
1 cup CRISCO
2 stick butter
1 cup milk
5 eggs
1 tsp, vanilla
1 tsp. coconut or lemon flavoring (your choice)
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Cream shortening and sugar. Add the eggs, flavoring; then milk
and flour last. Beat well. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 )
minutes in a preheated oven in a well greased and floured pan. I
make in four layers and use for my coconut cake or add 4 tables -
poons cocoa and make a chocolate pound cake.
