Roast Turkey
turkey
any desired stuffing (optional)
1/2 cup butter
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
flour for dredging
Wipe turkey with cold damp cloth. Put in stuffing ( if desired).
Fasten wings and legs close to body by tying. Spread 3 tablespoons
butter over breast and legs. Sprinkle with salt and pepper,
and flour. Also sprinkle bottom of roasting pan with flour. Place
turkey on back in roasting pan. Place in hot over (450 degrees)
for 15 minutes. Baste with remaining butter, melted in 2/3 cup
of boiling water. Reduce oven heat to 350 degrees and cook until
breast is tender, 15 - 20 minutes per pound. Baste every 30
minutes.
Servings: 3/4 pound per serving

Basting For Turkey
1 tbsp. salt
2 tsp. seasoned salt
1 tsp . garlic powder
1/4 tsp, basil
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. poultry seasoning
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp, paprika
1 cup water
Brush turkey or turkey breast with melted butter or oil.
Mix together ingredients and place mixture on turkey in browning
bag and bake at 350 degress for 3 - 4 hours, or until done.
