Bird Food
1 cup flour
3 cups corn meal (plain)
1/2 lb. lard, not shortening
2 tbsp. peanut butter
2 cups peanut hearts or bits.
Mix with electric mixer until mixture makes a firm ball. Reduce the amount of lard if you use this during warm weather. This may bepacked into the holes of a vertical log feeder. It is supposed to attract bluebirds. Another way to attract bluebirds is to save red dogwood berries in the fall. Refrigerate them and put out in late winter near nesting sites, even on top of birdhouses!
